FAQ

Common questions

Yes. Dogs traveling within the EU require an EU Pet Passport, which records microchip data, rabies vaccination and other health information. Non-EU destinations require an official health certificate endorsed by a government vet authority.
No. You can plan a route, check breed restrictions and see your Phase 1 checklist without creating an account. Signing up (free) unlocks your own breed profile. Premium adds the full checklist, saved trips and more.
Law-Paws is PetTrip's interactive regional map that shows breed-specific legislation (BSL) at the regional level — by counties, states & provinces and cantons — color-coded green, yellow or red. It currently covers Switzerland, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic and Italy, with more countries being added continuously.
Denmark bans 13 breeds (not Rottweiler). Norway and Iceland ban certain breeds. Russia banned 12 breeds including Rottweiler in 2023. Singapore bans 34 breeds including Rottweiler. Australia and New Zealand also restrict Rottweiler imports. PetTrip checks breed rules for every country on your route automatically.
No. Breed-specific legislation (BSL) applies exclusively to dogs. Cat entry requirements are species-based — microchip, rabies vaccination, health certificate — and do not vary by breed. PetTrip's breed check feature only applies to dogs.
Yes, but the rules changed after Brexit. Cats entering Great Britain need a microchip, a valid rabies vaccination and an official health certificate (AHC) endorsed by an official vet — EU Pet Passports are no longer accepted for England, Scotland or Wales. Northern Ireland still accepts EU Pet Passports.
Both Azerbaijan and Georgia require a rabies vaccination no older than 11 months — 3-year vaccinations are not recognized. A government-endorsed health certificate is also required, as EU Pet Passports are not accepted.
