Privacy Policy

Waitlist: When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and the timestamp of your submission. Nothing else.

App account: When you create an account — in the PetTrip app, or on our website's community map at pettrip.app/near-me — we collect your email address, a hashed password, and optionally a private display name you set in your profile (visible only to you). It's the same account either way. On the website, your sign-in session is stored as a secure, HttpOnly cookie — not readable by any script on the page — rather than the app's secure on-device storage; it stays only in that browser until you sign out or it expires. Premium subscribers additionally provide payment information processed by Apple/Google — we never see or store payment details directly.

Community profile (optional): You may set a public username (up to 30 characters) and upload a profile picture — from the app or from the website's community map. Both are shown to other PetTrip users next to your reviews and community badges — your username and profile picture are publicly visible and the picture is retrievable via a public image URL. We also track your community points, level, and earned badges based on your approved contributions.

Pet profiles: Breed, species, name, and optionally a photo you upload. This data is stored locally on your device and, for registered users, synced to our database.

Saved trips (Premium): If you save a trip, we store your origin and destination, transit countries, your pet's breed and name, the travel date, and the resulting entry-requirement status, tied to your account — so you can access it again from any device. Free accounts and anonymous use keep this information only on your own device.

Community contributions: If you submit a review, a correction to a listing, a new place, a report about a listing, or a missing-breed request, we store what you submit together with your account and a timestamp, so we can moderate it, publish it, and credit your community points.

Usage data: We use Matomo Analytics (self-hosted) on our website (pettrip.app) — not inside the app — to measure anonymous website traffic. Matomo is configured in cookieless mode — no cookies are set and no persistent identifier is stored on your device. IP addresses are anonymised immediately and never stored in full.

• Email (waitlist): To notify you when PetTrip launches. Legal basis: your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Email (account): To authenticate you and send transactional messages (e.g. password reset). Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Display name (optional, private): To personalise your in-app experience. Visible only to you. You can change or remove it at any time in Settings → Edit Profile. Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Username & profile picture (optional, public): Shown to other users next to your reviews and badges, to build trust in the community. Entirely optional — you can set, change, or remove them at any time in Settings → Edit Profile. Legal basis: your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
• Community points & badges: To recognise and reward helpful contributions to the community. Legal basis: contract performance / legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)/(f) GDPR).
• Pet profiles: To personalise route results and checklists for your specific pet. Legal basis: contract performance.
• Saved trips (Premium): So you can access your saved trips and checklist progress from any device. Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — this is a paid feature you actively choose to use.
• Community contributions (reviews, corrections, reports, breed requests): To moderate and publish helpful information for other pet owners, and to credit your community points. Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Usage data (Matomo): To understand how visitors interact with our website and improve it. Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No personal data is processed; tracking is cookieless and fully anonymised.

The data is stored by ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich, owned by René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, for users of our website at https://all-inkl.com. Storage remains within the EU.

WonderfulWebWorks LLC is based in the United States. Where any processing of your data occurs in the US (e.g. our internal tooling), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal transfer mechanism for EU/EEA personal data.

• Waitlist emails: Until you unsubscribe or PetTrip launches and we have notified you.
• Account data: Until you delete your account.
• Community profile, points & badges: Until you delete your account (username, profile picture, points, badges).
• Reviews, corrections & reports: Kept after account deletion to preserve place data for other travelers, but no longer linked to you — your account reference is replaced with an anonymous placeholder.
• Pet profiles: Until you delete them or your account.
• Saved trips (Premium): Until you delete the trip or your account. Free/anonymous use keeps this only on your device, until you delete it there.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the waitlist)
• Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

• Matomo Analytics — cookieless, anonymised website analytics, self-hosted on our own infrastructure (privacy policy)
• Apple App Store / StoreKit — payments for Premium (privacy policy)
• Google Fonts — fonts loaded on this website (privacy policy)
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim / OSRM — geocoding & routing in the app (no account data sent)
• OpenFreeMap — map tiles for in-app maps (no account data sent)

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States. Where mandatory EU/EEA data protection laws (including the GDPR) apply to your use of the service, those laws take precedence to the extent required by applicable law.

PetTrip allows registered users to submit reviews and corrections for places (e.g. vets, pet shops). By contributing content, you agree to the following:

• Content must be accurate, honest, and relevant to the listed place.
• Hateful, abusive, discriminatory, or spam content is not permitted.
• Do not post personal data of other individuals without their consent.
• All submitted content is subject to moderation before it is published.

Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal and permanent account suspension. To report abusive content, use the report function in the app or contact us at hello@pettrip.app.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email (for registered users) or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
