Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

PetTrip is operated by PetTrip LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of New Mexico, United States ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@pettrip.app.

2. What data we collect

Waitlist (landing page): When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and the timestamp of your submission. Nothing else.

App account: When you create an account in the PetTrip app, we collect your email address and a hashed password via Supabase Auth. Premium subscribers additionally provide payment information processed by Apple (StoreKit) — we never see or store payment details directly.

Pet profiles: Breed, species, name, and optionally a photo you upload. This data is stored locally on your device and, for registered users, synced to our database.

Usage data: We do not use analytics SDKs or third-party trackers. No cookies are set on this website.

3. Why we collect it

Email (waitlist): To notify you when PetTrip launches. Legal basis: your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Email (account): To authenticate you and send transactional messages (e.g. password reset). Legal basis: contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Pet profiles: To personalise route results and checklists for your specific pet. Legal basis: contract performance.

4. Where data is stored & international transfers

Data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS eu-central-1, Frankfurt, EU). Pet profile photos are stored in Supabase Storage. Storage remains within the EU.

PetTrip LLC is based in the United States. Where any processing of your data occurs in the US (e.g. our internal tooling), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal transfer mechanism for EU/EEA personal data.

5. How long we keep it

Waitlist emails: Until you unsubscribe or PetTrip launches and we have notified you.
Account data: Until you delete your account.
Pet profiles & trip data: Until you delete them or your account.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. unsubscribe from the waitlist)
Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@pettrip.app. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Third-party services

Supabase — database & auth (privacy policy)
Apple App Store / StoreKit — payments for Premium (privacy policy)
Google Fonts — fonts loaded on this website (privacy policy)
OpenStreetMap / Nominatim / OSRM — geocoding & routing in the app (no account data sent)

8. Governing law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States. Where mandatory EU/EEA data protection laws (including the GDPR) apply to your use of the service, those laws take precedence to the extent required by applicable law.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email (for registered users) or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
